A long time comin...

I have been planning and planning for this day...

It's taken weeks and months, but it finally happened...

I saved more than I spent at Kroger!!!!!!

Now, this might not be exciting to anyone else, but it definitely was to me! Kroger has some great sales this week and combined with coupons, I got some great deals! Want a peek?

- Betty Crocker boxed potatoes: $.09
- 24 ct. Tylenol: $.50
- 2 boxes of Cheez-its: $.98
- 2 bags of Chex mix: $1.50
- 2 cans of Carnation evaporated milk: FREE + $.02 overage
- 2 cans of crescent rolls: $1.48
- 2 cans of cinnamon rolls: $1.38
- 2 packages of cookie dough: $1.98
- 2 bags of salad: FREE + $.01 overage
- Ore-Ida fries: $.99

Do you see those items that were free? I was amazed! In total, I spent $33.34 and saved $57.25!!!

Once you get into couponing, it becomes a game and each week I try to do better and better! I will do a post on couponing soon...

Since most {or let's be honest, ALL} of you are here to see an adorable little peanut, take a look at our photo shoot this afternoon:

I can't take the sweetness!

A whole new world!!

I give it 2, maybe 3 more weeks and this girl will be bustin a move!!

I have a few other videos to post, but seeing as how this one took 3 hours {what's up with that blogger?} to upload on here, I will wait until later to post those!

Tonight...

Tonight is one of those nights when you hold babies a little tighter...

Give extra kisses...

Say "I love you" and really mean it...

Hug a little longer...

Get a sleeping baby out of the crib and rock her just because you can...

And pray that her little heart keeps beating long after mine stops...

Because, it's nights like these when you realize it won't be like this forever. There will be valleys we must walk through. There will be low times and times of despair. There will be times when the mountain before us seems too tall.

But even during those times, joy will return. Peace and understanding will wash over us again. We will feel His presence and know we are called to suffer so that we may feel His loving arms around us.

"We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you" (Psalms 33:20-22).

Finally----6 month post!!!

I know, I know....better late than never right??

I typed the rest of this post after her apt. last Thursday {that's why the font is different.} I can't remember what her head measurement, so I will have to add that in later!

I am thankful I have a healthy, happy 6 month old.
Here are the stats from the doctor yesterday:
Weight: 16 lbs 4 ounces {50%}
Length: 25.5 inches {41%}
Head: ??

A few things to remember about our 6 month old:
* Wearing 3-6 month clothes and some 6 month sleepers
* Wearing size 2 diaper during the day and size 3 at night!
* Reaching out for toys and her hand/eye coordination is fantastic!
*Rolling over all over the place and beginning to scoot if she sees something she wants!
* Doing very well at sitting on her own!
* Still no teeth!!
* Loves peas {WHAT?} and bananas. Not so crazy about peaches or carrots.
*Sleeping 12-13 hours a night and taking 30 mins to 2 hour naps twice a day.
*Having 4 or 5 6-8 ounce bottles a day.
*Still spitting up after almost. every. bottle. The rice cereal has helped a little bit. ANNOYING!
*Talking, laughing, screeching, babbling, gurgling, etc ALL DAY!

These pics are getting more and more challenging to take! I wonder how many more I will be able to take with her actually laying there!

And.....yes, this was just 6 months ago!

Reese,

How are you already half a year old? My mind cannot comprehend that! I look at you everyday and am so happy that you are growing and changing into your own person. But, I am also sad to know that I will never get those 6 months back. There is no way to explain to a new mother to breathe it all in. It’s not possible until you look back and 6 months have flown by. Soon I will look back and a year has past!

To be honest, I’m not sure if I really knew how to love and appreciate you in the beginning. Those first few months are such a blur of time and adjustments and there’s little time to just BE. Now, I feel like we can just be. We can sit on the bed and play for 30 minutes. We can “talk” and laugh and make faces at each other. I have been ready for these times.

I can see that streak of independence starting to peak its way through. Keep letting it shine. Confidence and independence are not easy to come by in this world and having those 2 qualities is half the battle. You are also extremely easy going and just an all around good natured baby. Thank you!

Tonight you stayed up late and as I fed you in the glider, I cried. I cried because you actually let me rock you and I cried because I know I won’t get to do it forever. I thought about that quote that talks about raising a child with both roots and wings. What a hard concept to actually think about instilling. But that’s what we’re called to do. Give you a firm foundation so that you learn to fly. Please don’t fly too quickly.

There’s so much about me that has changed since that day in April and all of it is because of your presence in my life. And tonight, as we listened to the birds chirp on your sound machine and we rocked, I thought you were drifting to sleep. But then, you sat up, put your hands on each side of my face, grinned and then spit up all over me.

And I wouldn’t imagine it any other way.

******

Although, I am glad you didn’t get it in my eyeball.

You did that to your daddy yesterday.

I’m very thankful gravity was on my side this time.

Video!

I shot this video of peanut last night...enjoy!

P.S. I promise, her 6 month post with stats and bunny pic is coming tomorrow!
P.P.S. If you don't use Google Reader, there is another post below!

Casa De Reesie

I realized that I've never given a tour of the babe's room. Also, B just made me an awesome book shelf that I've been wanting. I'm now waiting for another one! So easy and so cute!

This is on top of her dresser, with her train letters, bunnies, and piggy banks! You can see the sky painted on her ceiling in the reflection of the mirror.

This is another shot of the dresser, with the quote I loooooove behind the picture.

Close up of the quote!

Perfect solution for a bookshelf when you don't have room for a standing one!

Close up of her books! I need another one, because she still has more books that won't fit!

RAD!I found this awesome lamp/shelf combo at Target while I was pregnant for $7!!!!!!! Best bargain ever!

I got this scroll iron hook thing {ha} at Hobby Lobby and spray painted it white. Hanging on it are the dress she wore home from the hospital, her bonnet made by Great Aunt Lolli, and her first smocked bubble! {I do plan on buying 2 pretty hangers, but these will do for now!}

Six Month Saturday!

Yesterday was the first Saturday of Reese's 6th month!!! I will be posting her "official" 6 month post later. In the mean time, I thought I would post about our Saturday {with NO mention of that lovely game. ahem.}

We went down to Babs and T's house to have a Mexican fiesta! Foxy Knoxy was there too, but once again, I did not get one single picture of him!

Remember a few posts back when Reese took a bath in the ducky bath and HATED it?? Well, now look! After a full day of spitting up (yes, at 6 months, this is still a constant thing!}, we decided Reese needed a scrub down!

We also took advantage of the beautiful flowers in the backyard and had a little photo shoot!
She is so curious about everything and how it all works!

One of my fav. pics!! Babs, how long will it take for you to save this, make it your desktop background, and print it out??

We even got T in on the action!

And yes, that is a bow on her head!!!

I'm back!!!

Well, I know it's been awhile!! I have been VERY busy at work, pulling long hours and going to far away locations! These are just a few pics from the past few weeks...as you can see Reese has been playing with some new toys and visiting lots of fun people! I don't have much time to post now, but I will be back later this week with the 6 MONTH POST!!!! Umm, it pains me to say that I have a 6 month old. Seriously, time has flown since April. Do you realize that in 6 short months, I will be planning a 1 year birthday party!!! OMG, I can't even type that!
