Double Digits!!

10 months.  Wow.  That seems so old {esp. since she's now almost 11 months.  Gulp.}  I'm wondering if the reason I am always 2-3 weeks late on updating her monthly stats is because I'm in denial?  Possibly.

I will say though that 10 months has been one of my fav. months so far.  She is getting anywhere she wants to go.  She is getting more verbal and she is just so much more interactive.

She's also eating fun things like spaghetti!!

She now has 6 teeth!!!  Well, 2 are making their way in, but still.

She is wearing 9 month and 6-12 month clothes, depending on the brand.

She says "ruff ruff" if you ask what a doggy says.

She pulls up on everything and crawls everywhere.

She is starting to screech/scream to show excitement and frustration.
She now has a big girl car seat and looks so big in it!!

Besides meats, there has been no foods that she won't eat.  The girl does not struggle with an appetite.  I hope this continues!

She scrunches her nose and squints her eyes when she smiles and laughs.

Channeling a certain pair of eye-squinters overseas, perhaps??
{who arrive for a visit in less than 3 weeks!!!!}

We also tried out a new 'do this month.  Little Pebbles cracks me up!!!

I wish you could see the hair sticking straight up behind the bow.  It makes the look.

I can't believe I'm doing things like planning 1st birthday events, buying 12-18 month clothes, and thinking about "walking" shoes!  This just doesn't seem right.
But, isn't that how life is?  At least, life with an impending 1 year old!

Snow Day!!

Is there anything cuter than a baby in a teddy bear snowsuit?  I think not.  Behold:

She loved it and acted like it was the most normal thing.  She even got mad when we brought her inside.  She def. didn't get her apparent love of coldness from me!

Soo cute!

She's got skills, they're multiplyin....

...and I'm loooooooosin control.

Seriously.  9 months came along and so did Miss Independent.

Mad skills.  That's what she's got.  Here are a few:

1.  Practicing her swan dive off the changing table.  This is where she first began to react to the word, "NO."  She cries when she hears that word now.  She just wants to roll and grab and stand and do everything but lay the booty down and get a new diaper.
Can a 9 month old be potty trained?

2.  Grinding her teeth.  OMG.  Nothing sounds worse than 4 baby teeth rubbing together.  Why is she trying to file them down?  They just came in like a month ago.
Can a 9 month old wear a mouth guard?

3.  Barking like a dog.  "Arf arf" is constant.  Especially if she hears a dog bark.  Yes, this does mean she's a genius.  I'm sure the people at Target who listened to the barking for an hour think she's brilliant.
Can a 9 month old wear a muzzle?

This is what the majority of pictures look like now:

Can a 9 month old be controlled?
That's a big fat NO.

{cue the crying.}

Cheeky!

Playing "How big's the baby?"

Today, we had Reese's appointment at the ENT to check about the lump/knot in her cheek.  After waiting 2 hours and playing with Lolli, we finally saw the doc!

He did an ultrasound, {which was not loved by the patient} and feels 99% sure she has what is called a Hemangioma of the Parotid Gland.  What big words!

Basically, it is a mass of blood vessels that have made their home in Peanut's cheek.  He used the word "tumor", but I don't love that word, so I'm saying "mass" which isn't much better, but still.  He is 99% sure it is non-cancerous and feels that we would have seen some other symptoms if it were cancerous.  It measures 3cms and is quite a large mass.  He will be consulting some doctors at Children's Hospital to run the diagnosis by specialists {in hemangiomas?  in cheek masses?  who knows...}

Anyways, after he talks with the specialists, if they see no cause for concern, we will go back to the ENT in 6 weeks to measure the mass again and decide what to do from there.  If they feel like something more needs to be done, our ENT will be calling us and we'll take it from there.

So.

We're in a "wait and see" mode.  Fun, huh??

Not exactly.

Words like "tumor" and "cancer" are not fun words, and especially not being swirled around the air in a room with my 9 1/2 month old daughter.  But, I know God is in control of my baby's sweet cheek {ha} and I feel confident that we have nothing to worry about.

We are praying for the mass to have decreased when we go back in 6 weeks!  Join us, won't you?

On a lighter note, today is T's birthday!!

Reese is so lucky to have a Godly, generous, and loving T!!!  What a strong example and leader you have been for our family and I don't know where we'd be without you!!

Hope you had a great birthday!!  We love you!

Quick Update!

So, I took the bunny pic, but I'm too lazy to upload it tonight...promise you'll see it tomorrow!!
Anyways, we went to Reese's 9 month check up today and here are the stats:

Weight: 19 lbs, 3 ozs. (50th %)
Length: 27 inches (25%)
Head Circumference: 42 cms (25%)

Basically, she was in the exact same place on her growth chart as she was at 6 months!  She gained equally among all 3 categories!!  It is amazing that 9 months ago, she was just a little over 4 lbs!

How do they go from this:

to this:

in such a few short months??

I have a love/hate relationship with that little thing called time.

Back to the appointment, she flirted with everyone, cried for .4 seconds with her shots, and then promptly reached out for and went to the nurse who had just given her the shot!!  What's that about??

Also, the doctor is making us a referral to get her cheek looked at by an ENT {ear, nose, and throat doc} just to make sure all is well.  Our doc feels that it is probably just a little benign cyst and nothing to be concerned about.  She did say that it is not normal and she/we would sleep better if we got it seen by a specialist.  I agree and we should have an appointment hopefully within a week!  Please continue to pray that the knot is nothing and no further intervention is required.

9 months!

So I don't have an official bunny pic yet, but here is a cute pic of our 9 MONTH OLD!!!

I cannot believe she was born 9 months ago.  She's been out of the womb longer than she was in there!  What a crazy thought!  Here are some specifics about this baby girl!

~ Crawling like it's her job.  She has gotten much faster and slaps the ground so hard when she crawls.
~  She pulls up on everything!
~ Nap/Bed time has become interesting.  She fights it hard and stands up in her crib and just stares at the door.  She usually does this when she's going to bed and waking up.
~  Just today, she has cut her 2 top teeth!!!
~ Wearing 6-9, 6-12, or 9 month clothes.  We go to the doc. on Wednesday, so I'll update with her weight, height, etc. then.
~ Size 3 diapers
~ Still a great eater.  We try hard to get 3-4 bottles a day.  Not so interested in the bottle.  She eats every baby food.  She is also trying out "people" food too and has not found a SINGLE item she won't eat.  I hope this continues.
~ Loves her pink baby doll and her lion lovey!
~ Still doesn't really care about a paci.  I've never seen a child that just doesn't "get" a paci, but she doesn't.  She chews on it and plays with it, but has never just sucked on it.
~ She has the sweetest, softest little voice.  She loves talking in the car.

There are so many things I love about this girl!  She really is a great baby and has spoiled us so much!  Can't wait to see what becomes of her little life!

P.S.  One of the things we are talking to the doctor about Wednesday is a knot that she has had on her jaw for about 3 months.  We took her to the doc. about a month and a half ago, and they didn't seem concerned.  Well, it hasn't gone away and I don't like that.  I'm sure everything is fine, but it does make me a little nervous.  Please pray that it is nothing serious and we can find out what it is!!
