These are a few of my favorite things...
So, since I am the ripe ol' age of 7 {almost 8} months, I have quite a few things that I really, really love. I have just discovered most of these things over the past few weeks and MAN, I have really been missing out!
1. Vents. They are on the ground and I love to scrape my fingers over them. I always find my way over to the vents.
2. Itty bitty, tiny pieces of....anything. I can find lint, plastic wrappers, the tiniest speck of dirt. Of course, I am not allowed to have any of it {which does NOT make me happy}, but I think of it as helping mommy and daddy keep the floor clean!
3. Screaming/screeching. Oh have I found my voice this month. Why doesn't everyone else in the world know that they are supposed to be looking at me all the time? I make sure they notice me one way or another.
4. Spitting/Raspberries. See item above. If screaming doesn't work, I blow raspberries until I think I might burst a blood vessel.
5. Tags. I kind of think it's funny that people spend money on buying me things and all I care about is the tag on the toy! Can yall guess what Christmas will be like??
6. Saying "boowboowboow". This rhymes with cow. I say it all the time.
7. Reaching out to grab everything. As evidenced below:
8. Eating....everything. As evidenced below:
9. My 2 bottom teeth!!
10. Being sooo much fun! Mommy says this is her favorite month ever. "Crawling", pulling up, and every other active thing I can do! My plan is to keep them as busy as possible for these next few months!
I hope yall enjoyed my first post...I'm sure I'll be back soon!

One more...
This actually came up 2 days after the first one did. At first it looked like 4 teeth {and it still kinda does}, but I'm pretty sure there's only 2!
This weekend, Reese was definitely more fussy than normal, but since both teeth are growing more and more each day, she's back to her normal chipper self!
Also, I'm a bad mom and took NO pictures of my child's first Thanksgiving!
I might just put her back in her cute outfits {yes, she had a wardrobe change} and take some pics!

She's no vampire...
Remember just yesterday when I talked about how there were no pearly whites in baby girl's mouth??
Well.
Apparently, she just wanted to prove me wrong, because today there is a tooth!!
I'm sure there is a technical name for the tooth, but I shall refer to it as...the bottom right tooth.
Of courrrrrrrrse, she would allow no photos, so I drew you a fabulous picture so you can see exactly which one it is!
Hahaha, this looks just like Pnut right??
{no her tooth is not green}
And yes, that little sucker is sharp!

7 {& 1/2} months!!!
If you haven't noticed, these are becoming slightly more challenging to take!
Some random bits of info:
~Wearing 3-6, and some 6-9 month clothes
~ Size 3 diapers
~ Eating EVERY single baby food option. Seriously.
~ Babbling and saying "mamama", "dadadada", and "babababa"
~ Going to bed between 7-9 PM and waking up between 8-10 AM.
~ Napping schedule is not as "scheduled"
~ NO teeth!
~ Can sit on her own. Very close to crawling. Can pull up {sometimes}.
~ Very smiley and such a charmer. Attention on her at all times please!
~ Bottle feeding is not fun. She has no time for that.
All in all, this month has been one of my favs so far. She is becoming more independent, and is sooooo happy! Besides when she's tired or hungry, she is just not a fussy baby. She has been teething for about 4 months and there are still no pearly whites. Oh well, I know I will miss how "babyish" she looks without them when they come in! Also, I think by the time I write her 8 month post, we will have a crawler on our hands!!
I promise to do better with blogging!

A whole new world!!
I have a few other videos to post, but seeing as how this one took 3 hours {what's up with that blogger?} to upload on here, I will wait until later to post those!
Tonight...
Give extra kisses...
Say "I love you" and really mean it...
Hug a little longer...
Get a sleeping baby out of the crib and rock her just because you can...
And pray that her little heart keeps beating long after mine stops...
Because, it's nights like these when you realize it won't be like this forever. There will be valleys we must walk through. There will be low times and times of despair. There will be times when the mountain before us seems too tall.
But even during those times, joy will return. Peace and understanding will wash over us again. We will feel His presence and know we are called to suffer so that we may feel His loving arms around us.
"We wait in hope for the LORD; he is our help and our shield. In him our hearts rejoice, for we trust in his holy name. May your unfailing love rest upon us, O LORD, even as we put our hope in you" (Psalms 33:20-22).

Finally----6 month post!!!
I typed the rest of this post after her apt. last Thursday {that's why the font is different.} I can't remember what her head measurement, so I will have to add that in later!
I am thankful I have a healthy, happy 6 month old.
Here are the stats from the doctor yesterday:
Weight: 16 lbs 4 ounces {50%}
Length: 25.5 inches {41%}
Head: ??
A few things to remember about our 6 month old:
* Wearing 3-6 month clothes and some 6 month sleepers
* Wearing size 2 diaper during the day and size 3 at night!
* Reaching out for toys and her hand/eye coordination is fantastic!
*Rolling over all over the place and beginning to scoot if she sees something she wants!
* Doing very well at sitting on her own!
* Still no teeth!!
* Loves peas {WHAT?} and bananas. Not so crazy about peaches or carrots.
*Sleeping 12-13 hours a night and taking 30 mins to 2 hour naps twice a day.
*Having 4 or 5 6-8 ounce bottles a day.
*Still spitting up after almost. every. bottle. The rice cereal has helped a little bit. ANNOYING!
*Talking, laughing, screeching, babbling, gurgling, etc ALL DAY!
Reese,
How are you already half a year old? My mind cannot comprehend that! I look at you everyday and am so happy that you are growing and changing into your own person. But, I am also sad to know that I will never get those 6 months back. There is no way to explain to a new mother to breathe it all in. It’s not possible until you look back and 6 months have flown by. Soon I will look back and a year has past!
To be honest, I’m not sure if I really knew how to love and appreciate you in the beginning. Those first few months are such a blur of time and adjustments and there’s little time to just BE. Now, I feel like we can just be. We can sit on the bed and play for 30 minutes. We can “talk” and laugh and make faces at each other. I have been ready for these times.
I can see that streak of independence starting to peak its way through. Keep letting it shine. Confidence and independence are not easy to come by in this world and having those 2 qualities is half the battle. You are also extremely easy going and just an all around good natured baby. Thank you!
Tonight you stayed up late and as I fed you in the glider, I cried. I cried because you actually let me rock you and I cried because I know I won’t get to do it forever. I thought about that quote that talks about raising a child with both roots and wings. What a hard concept to actually think about instilling. But that’s what we’re called to do. Give you a firm foundation so that you learn to fly. Please don’t fly too quickly.
There’s so much about me that has changed since that day in April and all of it is because of your presence in my life. And tonight, as we listened to the birds chirp on your sound machine and we rocked, I thought you were drifting to sleep. But then, you sat up, put your hands on each side of my face, grinned and then spit up all over me.
And I wouldn’t imagine it any other way.
******
Although, I am glad you didn’t get it in my eyeball.
You did that to your daddy yesterday.
I’m very thankful gravity was on my side this time.

I got this scroll iron hook thing {ha} at Hobby Lobby and spray painted it white. Hanging on it are the dress she wore home from the hospital, her bonnet made by Great Aunt Lolli, and her first smocked bubble! {I do plan on buying 2 pretty hangers, but these will do for now!}
